Introduction to engineering design
uNIT 8 aDVANCED COMPUTER MODELINGIn unit 8, the students learn more about CAD and have to take on the task of recreating a miniature train. The train consists of multiple parts, which they have to create and assemble and document via their digital portfolio. Below are a few of the examples of the different trains students created.

unit 4 modeling skills
Unit 4 introduces the students to the first of many projects they will complete during their time in IED. The puzzle cube requires each student to use their abilities of brainstorming, selecting a solution that best meets a set of criteria, sketching and constructing a puzzle cube. This unit will also mark the start of their learning process using Autodesk Inventor, our CAD based computer design program. I will do my best at keeping this page updated with students work/progress...
Unit 2 Technical sketching and drawing
Course Description
Introduction to Engineering Design
Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. They work both individually and in teams to design solutions to a variety of problems using 3D modeling software, and use an engineering notebook to document their work.
